Hello from Forfar & District Branch!
Our Branch is run by a small team of dedicated volunteers who work hard to look after and find homes for unwanted cats and kittens in Forfar and the surrounding area. We do not have a shelter in this area. All cats and kittens are cared for by fosterers in their own homes.
Cats come into our care under many different circumstances. These include cats found straying, death of a owner, owner moving house and unwanted kittens.
Our small team of volunteers work hard to look after all their charges. All cats/kittens who come into our care are health checked, micro-chipped, vaccinated and neutered. All potential adopters will have a home check carried out to ensure the right match between cat/kitten and adopter. We are also able to help with the cost of neutering for families on low income and are currently running a campaign to neuter and microchip a cat or kitten for a minimum donation of £5. It is expensive to get these operations carried out and anything extra donation you can give would be very much appreciated.
We charge an adopotion fee of £60 per cat/kitten.

We also offer advice on cat care and are always on looking for new volunteers to help out with fostering and/or fundraising ideas. We do not have a shelter here in Forfar and our fosterers look after cats and kittens in their own homes or in a outside pen supplied by CP. Fosterers are a vital part of our work and we rely greatly on them as obviously the more fosterers we have, the more cats we can look after. All you require to be a fosterer is:
1. A spare room in your home or are prepared to have a pen in your garden
- Time to commit to the needs of the cat/kittens
- An understanding of Cats Protection Standards
- Your own transport (mileage allowance payable)
- To live in the Angus area
The website is updated often to ensure that you have the most up-to-date information available on our cats in care and other branch news.

Cats Protection, Forfar & District Branch, has been open since August 2013. We have homed many cats and kittens and have assisted many people to get their cats neutered. But it isn’t enough. We want to do more and to do that, we need YOU! We are looking for fundraising volunteers to help us help as many cats and kittens as we can, and we are also looking for good quality bric-a-brac, accessories, books, unwanted gifts etc to help us raise funds at events. We need people to help out at car boot sales, coffee mornings, collections etc. If you would like to help us, in any way either time or donated goods, we would be so grateful. Please give us a call us 01307 708344. Together we can help our feline friends to find forever homes. Thank you.Contact Us
