What we do
Cats come into our care under many different circumstances. These include cats found straying, death of a owner, owner moving house and unwanted kittens.
Our small team of volunteers work hard to look after all their charges. All cats/kittens who come into our care are health checked, micro-chipped, vaccinated (kittens 1st vaccination) and neutered if they are adult cats. All potential adopters will have a home check carried out to ensure the right match between cat/kitten and adopter. We are also able to help with the cost of neutering for families on low income.
Vouchers towards neutering costs are now worth £25 for male cats and £40 for females.
We also offer advice on cat care and are always on looking for new volunteers to help out with fostering and/or fundraising ideas. We do not have a shelter here in Forfar and our fosterers look after cats and kittens in their own homes or in a outside pen supplied by CP. Fosterers are a vital part of our work and we rely greatly on them as obviously the more fosterers we have, the more cats we can look after. All you require to be a fosterer is:
- A spare room in your home or are prepared to have a pen in your garden
- Time to commit to the needs of the cat/kittens
- An understanding of Cats Protection Standards
- Your own transport (mileage allowance payable)
- To live in the Angus area
We charge an Adoption Fee of £60 per cat or kitten.
