RECALL OF PETS AT HOME 'AVA' DRY CAT FOOD VARIETIES
12 March 2017
We have become aware of thiamine issues in association with a range of Pets at Home feline diets in the UK. A limited number of cats suffering from thiamine deficiency have recently been seen in veterinary practices in the UK. Affected cats were diagnosed with thiamine deficiency after being fed exclusively ‘Pets at Home AVA Veterinary Approved’ kibble. The diets are now being recalled. See www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/product-recall
for further details. Thiamine deficiency may lead to seizures and other neurological signs but recovery is possible following diet change and supplementation with thiamine.
